Museum ca pesaro builidingCa’ Pesaro, the building in which is located the International Gallery of Modern Art, was built in the second half of the 17th century for the noble Pesaro family. It was designed by Baldassare Longhena, an architect who also projected Chiesa della Salute and Ca’ Rezzonico.

The Museum contains worlks of the 19th and 20th century by Matisse, Kandinsky, Moore, Klimt, Klee and Chagall and some iportant Italian artists such as Giacomo Balla, Eduardo Alfieri, Ippolito Caffi,… It is also present an important section of graphic art.

Ca’ Pesaro has three floors dedicated to exhibitions with over 2000 works. The second floor was reopened in June 2009 with a minimalist staging conceived as a work in progress.
